550+ Grams of Fentanyl Found in Canaan Stolen Chainsaw Search

Skowhegan Police went to a home looking for a stolen chainsaw but came away with a significant amount of illegal drugs.

Chief Bucknam says Skowhegan Officers, along with Maine Drug Enforcement Agents, and Maine State Police executed a search warrant on Hill Road in Canaan on Wednesday. Originally, they were looking for a chainsaw that had been stolen. But they walked away with much more.

The search of the home resulted in the seizure of 552.9 grams of Fentanyl, 34.6 grams of cocaine, and 1.6 grams of methamphetamine. In addition, police located over $1,200 in cash, which was taken into evidence. Two people have been arrested and charged with multiple felonies.

Rylee Spofford, 19, is charged with:

Spofford is being held on $25,000 cash bail.
